I Built a Free Local Service Platform for Bikaner — But It Can Work in Any City

What if you could simply post what you need locally, instead of searching through hundreds of business listings?

What is AB Bikaner?

AB Bikaner is a simple local platform designed to connect people who need something with people who can provide it.

For example, someone might need:

• A CCTV technician
• An electrician
• An AC technician
• A plumber
• Computer or laptop repair
• A tutor
• A photographer
• A mechanic
• A designer
• Any other local service

Instead of searching through a large directory, the user can post a requirement.

The concept is simple

There is no requirement for a commission or paid middleman.

Why start with Bikaner?

I wanted to test the idea with one specific city rather than trying to build a nationwide platform from day one.

So Bikaner is the initial example.

But the underlying idea isn't limited to Bikaner.

The same concept could potentially be adapted for any city in India.

Imagine having a local version for Jaipur, Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Pune or smaller cities and towns.

Directory vs. Requirement Platform

A traditional directory usually starts with:

“Here are the businesses available.”

This experiment starts with:

“What do you need?”

That small difference changes the way the platform can work.

For example:

Requirement: CCTV installation required in Bikaner.

Instead of the user searching through multiple websites, the requirement itself becomes the starting point for finding someone who can help.

The other side of the platform

The platform also works for people who provide services.

A person who offers CCTV installation, electrical work, computer repair, tutoring or another service can make their service discoverable to people looking for it.

So the basic loop becomes:

Someone needs a service

→ posts a requirement

→ someone who can provide it discovers the requirement

→ they connect directly.

Why I built it

This is currently an experiment to answer a simple question:

Can a city-level platform connect local demand and local skills without relying on commissions or paid listings?

I'm starting with Bikaner and seeing where the idea goes.

The technology can support a much larger geographic area, but I believe testing the concept with one city first makes more sense.
